Gold-colored Holy Statue of Wei Tuo

Holy Statue of Wei Tuo

After my article, "The Photo of the Giving of Fearlessness," had been in circulation, Upasaka Wu of Taipei, Taiwan was reminded thereby of a gold-colored holy statue of Wei Tuo carved from a piece of box wood. Hence he went to the Buddha-statue shop to look for it. Even though it had been over two years since his last visit to the shop the Wei Tuo statue was still there. So he purchased it and offered it to me for my worship.

After I had consecrated the statue, I asked Bodhisattva Wei Tuo if he would like to abide in Taiwan to grant protection of stability and to promote propagation of Dharma. He granted permission at the first instance of divination. Therefore, I kept it on the altar in my family's Taipei residence.

During the inspirational experience of the photo of the Giving of Fearlessness the golden body of Wei Tuo was witnessed by me in its entirety. Only one month later already a Buddhist had bestowed such favor on me by offering me a gold-colored statue of Wei Tuo. Both the awesome power of Bodhisattva Wei Tuo and the generosity of the Dharma friend inspired my heartfelt admiration.

Epilog added in April of 1995: I mailed a photo of this holy statue to Upasaka Song Yi Tang of Tao Yuan, Taiwan who did not know about anything that had come to pass in connection with this statue. The night before the arrival of this photo his wife, Upasika Xiu Yan Chen, saw the image in a dream, and the image saw in the dream is exactly the same as the one in the photo.
