Impartial

Yutang Lin

How should a Dharma practitioner's way be
Just observe if state of mind is becoming more relaxed
As matters arise, be empathetic and more tolerant
Saying things in an impartial and peaceful manner

If always mindful of details and think elaborately
Making derisive statements in counting others' faults
Mentioning oneself in excessively abasing terms
Then absence of self has not been comprehended

After long-term practices and yet became entangled by trifles
Thus causing deep sympathy in Buddhas and patriarchs
