Days with the Guru

Yutang Lin

Days with the Guru
Were time spent in the Pureland hidden in the world

Like falling leaves, worldly concerns
Flew away in the wind and disappeared

Only a pure state of mind
And Dharma blessings remained

Spontaneous and at ease, we talked and laughed
As mood and situation called for, we sang in unison
Naturally minds melted into union

Getting near or touching Guru's body
Mind became peaceful and joyful, body became warm and hot
Boundless suddenly became tangible

At home after the pilgrimage
Mind still stays with the Guru, not interested in worldly matters
Daughters and sons of Buddha, having received such blessings
Are about to transform and transcend
