Hardly Preventable

Yutang Lin

Hardly preventable are treacherous minds;
Scarcely reliable are worldly associations.
Run not after connections but remain pure;
In light of oneness help all sentient beings.

Comments:

Tricky and treacherous dealings in the world are hardly preventable. Suspicion and worries are abundant, adding to nervousness. Things that are constantly changing, how could that be reliable? Working ultimately to others’ advantage could hardly be realized in advance. In the long run only Bodhi activities would result in lasting benefits. Soon realize oneness of all to help all sentient beings.
