Empty Mind

Yutang Lin

Preconceived bamboos would block one view;
Clear mind would mirror all phenomena exactly.
Self-righteous approach could not reach Buddha;
Empty-minded to receive what naturally there is.

Comment:

As being hindered by prejudices the field of one view could not be open. Without attachment all phenomena would be encompassed. Being accustomed to self-righteousness, how could one resemble a Buddha? Empty-minded without abiding, originally ready-made.
