Starting with Willingness to Yield

Yutang Lin

No grasping and opening up to be wise and compassionate,
Even though teachings understood life remains the same.
Counting family heirlooms without ideas of their uses,
Practice begins with the dawn of willingness to rid one's self.

Comment:

Even after the Buddhist teachings are learned and understood, unless one's mind is awakened to the point of willing to get rid of one's self, there is no real practice possible.
