Not falling into Oneself and Others

Yutang Lin

Comparing and weighing without end means deep in sorrows;
Without benefiting the situation and yet adding to worries.
Understand the reasons according to conditions, follow Buddhist teachings;
Not falling into Oneself and others, remain distant away from fighting.

Comment:

Always comparing and weighing, besides causing suffering to oneself, could it definitely lead to a satisfactory result? Transcend the antagonism between oneself and others, and simply try to understand the reasons through carefully reflecting upon the evolution of events, and then, following the rules of causes and conditions, engage in Dharma practices or propagate the teachings to the public. Thus one may remain distant away from arguments and fighting, but to grow and mature through experiences and thereby achieve benefiting oneself and all others.
