Below are disciple Bunhow's questions on Stanzas of Praises.
I translated them into English and provided my replies in English.

Detong, include this in Qing Yi Ji.
May all beings attain Enlightenment soon!

頂禮師佛:

請問為什麼密宗不同的法脈都有讚頌?
Why do various lineages of Vajrayana all have stanzas of praises?
The common goal of all lineages is to build up faith in and connection with the holy ones through offering praises to them. Furthermore, in the praises the wisdom and compassion aspects of the holy ones are explicated so practitioners through recitation will become more and more aware of those holy qualities so as to admire and to emulate. For different lineages they pay attention to their own lineage Gurus and particular Yidams and Protectors that are closely related to their lineage, so they have their own praises.

誦讀讚頌的目的是什麼?可是為了祈請聖眾的加持與護佑佛子修行?
What is the goal of reciting praises? Is it for supplication to the holy ones for blessing on and protection of Dharma practitioners on their practice path?
I have mentioned this above. Surely it is for suppliction for blessing and protection.

它和念經有什麼差別?
How does recitation of praises differ from recitation of Sutras?
Sutras tend to give general guidance on principles. Stanzas of praises usually aim at specific characters and special supplications. So recitation of praises is more of an application type of practice, while recitation of Sutras is more of the nature of learning the general priciples and practices.
