一切不執非死寂,意盡而後整體活;
心開無復樂窠臼,隨緣應對安平常。

昨日作〈內外無著〉。因恐讀者誤為死寂,作此篇以補充說明之。大死之後復活,仍舊回歸平常,隨緣應機接引而已。

No Grasping but not Dead  Yutang Lin

Attachment to none is not the same as dead still;
Exhaust thinking and then the whole will become alive.
Once mind opened, no longer enjoy lingering on old tracks;
Respond as occasions arise and content to be normal.

Comment:

Yesterday I composed "Neither Inner nor Outer Attachment." To avoid its being misunderstood as dead still, this one is composed to add explanation. Revival after a "great death," meaning the eradication of self, is simply to return to a normal way of life that responds to people as occasions arise.
